Rodney L. Carpenter, Director
Mr. Carpenter, prior to his retirement in December of 2008, was the Vice President, Business Development of the General Partner. Mr. Carpenter is the President and Chief Executive Officer and one of the principals of Canadian Fluid Systems Ltd. CFS was one of the two private drilling fluids businesses acquired by the Partnership in March, 2006. Mr. Carpenter has over 25 years of experience in the oilfield service industry. Mr. Carpenter joined CFS in 1989 and since then had held several sales, operations and management positions with CFS, including Vice President, Operations between 1994 and 2001. In October, 2001, Mr. Carpenter was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of CFS. Mr. Carpenter is a member of various industry and professional organizations, including the Canadian Association of Drilling Engineers and PSAC, and has served on various committees within the drilling fluids industry. Mr. Carpenter currently sits on the PSAC Drilling Fluid Committee, which is responsible for liaison activities for the drilling fluids sector with the AEUB and CAPP. Mr. Carpenter participated in representing PSAC in connection with the implementation of the first G-50 guidelines and is currently involved with PSAC in providing input on the new proposed G-50 guidelines. Mr. Carpenter attended the University of Calgary from 1971 to 1972.
