John M. Hooks, Director
Mr. Hooks has been the President and Chief Executive Officer of Phoenix Technology Services Inc., the administrator of Phoenix Technology Income Fund, since 1995 and Chairman of the board of directors of Phoenix since 2000. Phoenix is a publicly traded oil and gas services company that provides horizontal and directional drilling, and manufacturing sales and service of proprietary guidance systems. In 1985, Mr. Hooks founded Thread Tech Energy Systems Ltd., a private connection manufacturing and tubular distribution company. Thread Tech was acquired by Hunting Energy Services Inc. in November 2001. Mr. Hooks also privately owned Fiberspar Canada Inc., a distributor and service installer of composite pipe systems for the oil and gas industry. Fiberspar Canada was sold in June of 2003 to Weatherford Canada Partnership and the Fiberspar Corporation. Mr. Hooks has over 30 years of experience in the Canadian and international oil and gas industry, including operations, senior management, and ownership positions. Mr. Hooks currently sits on the board of directors of Phoenix Technology Income Fund and Savanna Energy Services Corp.
